"What Happens When Richard Castle Writes an Anime" - School Days - 9/10 Sugar Cubes

Genre: Romance... and some genre not invented yet

Media: Anime and Manga

“Now that’s what I call entertainment!”

This story starts out like all good romances should: the boy (Makoto) meets the girl (Kotonoha) on the train through a mutual friend. Then, they mutually fall in love and go on dates. Aww
But, there is one problem! Sekai, the mutual friend, also likes Makoto! If you think you know how this is going to end, (are you thinking Peach Girl? I hope not…) you are so wrong. (And I’m laughing at you ^.^)

Thus begins the most… um… lurid… romance you will ever see!

THE BREAKDOWN

Story: WAY too unique to be given anything less than a 9.

Characters: Makoto was not loveable at all. I usually like to like the boys the shoujo like, but this time, I didn’t need to like him. For once, it was so much better this way. It made it easier to concentrate on the “action”.

Art: Good. Nice and modern. Crisp.

Recommended: I do recommend this anime because it is so “out there”. Every time you think you know how the next episode will go, a new arc in the story starts that is MUCH crazier than the last.

All in All: If you are tired of the typical, take a peek at School Days, where Sex and the City goes REALLY wrong.

Disclaimer: You might not want to watch this with youngsters… or your parents… or people new to anime… or people eating food… or people with weak stomachs… Enjoy!

if i watch this anime and it's bad, i'll place all the blame on you!!!! mwahahaha...

you ever watch "5 centimeters per second"? that's a really good romance anime. it's more like a movie, though. the art is really pretty and it's great to watch during the Christmas season since the story takes place in winter. Safe to eat as you watch, too, LOL.

Also, check out "Lovely Complex". That anime is fuggin' HEEEEE-LARIOUS!!! =^_^=

  2. OMG! I ADORE Lovely Complex! And it's opposite Special A!!!!!!

I have heard about "5 Centimeters per Second" and have watched a few amvs, but I haven't seen the anime yet. Odd enough, this semester I've pretty much been mainly following manga and watching dramas. The only two anime I'm keeping up with at the moment are Miracle Train and Kampfer.

It was so hard to write this review since it is one of those anime that the kicker is what it is about. I think you'll at least be... "entertained" by it...

  4. I loved Nobuto Wo Produce! My little sister is a major KAT-TUN fan, so she has been quite obsessed... She just bought one of their towels for $50 on eBay... -.-

I'm quite new to Korean dramas, so I haven't seen that one. I usually watch Taiwanese and Japanese. I'll look at it, though!

I did see 5 Cm Per Second! That was so sweet! I love the style! Thanks for the recommendation!
