Pure Cuteness - Chi's Sweet Home - 10/10

Genre: Slice of Life, Children's programming

Summary: Chi is a little kitten who was separated from her mommy and adopted by a nice family who lives in an apartment that doesn't permit cats. Chi innocently learns about the world as her new family struggles to prevent the neighbors from noticing her.

Characters: Chi is absolutely adorable! Her new family consists of the father, mother, and their toddler son. Sometimes other felines or neighbors will enter the scene. This is a kids' show, so there isn't a lot of character development, but it is still entertaining and you can still relate to the characters because they are meant to have pretty common human responses to things.

Art: Simple. Too simple for me to watch a lot of at one time, but fits perfectly with the little kid theme.

My review: Once again, this show is just too cute. Chi goes through so many things like being taken to the vet, being litterbox trained (Which is how she got the name Chi (means pee)). This is also an excellent way to practice your Japanese as the grammar and vocab are simple (someone who watches enough anime can probably understand it without subtitles) And who can hate an adorable little kitty ^.^ An added bonus is that each episode is about 2 min (not counting the intro) each. A little practice a day goes a long way! So many simple situations are addressed here, and naturally the vocab with them, that it makes great practice.

Targeted Audiences: Little kids

Who will love it: Little kids and people who just love way-too-adorable, super-simple, slice-of-life anime.

Who will hate it: Most adults and school children

Overall: It is a great kids show and a perfect way to just wind down after a long day. The show explores so many simple aspects of Japanese life (or life around the world) that are not mentioned in other anime. The vocab is elementary and the characters enunciate their words so clearly they are easy to learn and replicate. Each episode is only about 3 min long or so and the first minute is the intro.
